Your First Visit

New Kitten Visit

What to bring to your first visit:

  • Any paperwork you've received from the breeder or rescue listing medical history and any vaccinations or deworming the puppy has received.
  • A stool sample 


What to expect at your first visit:

  • Physical examination of your new puppy
  • First vaccine
  • Examination of stool / deworming
  • Review of new guidelines and recommendations for pet owners
  • Decide on a treatment plan for your puppy.  


Cost of first visit:   $210


Schedule of visits your first year:

First visit:   First Distemper vaccine and stool examination

3 weeks after the first vaccine:   Second Distemper vaccine, recheck of stool examination, and begin heartworm prevention.*

*Puppies over 6 months will need a heartworm test before beginning monthly preventions.

3 weeks after the second vaccine:  Third Distemper vaccine

When puppy is 3 months of age:  Rabies vaccine, begin flea/tick prevention and supplements.


Once your puppy has received the Distemper and Rabies, we can begin administering other vaccinations, at your discretion and the guidance of the veterinarian.  


When your puppy is 6 months of age or older, we recommend:  

  • Insertion of microchip
  • Genetic DNA testing
  • Spay / Neuter


Schedule annual visits to keep your pet healthy and up to date on vaccinations.
